Firstly Ms T helped me carry the bullet board into the breeze which was used for my displays for my store and also some desk for my products to sit on .

Our market started at 11. 30 class by class arriving and coming in and out buying things from our stores. The products that ocean and I were selling was lollie boxes selling at the price of 1.00, inside were mixed lollies and a balloon.
Not allot of people were buying our products but as soon as the market started getting packed a variety of students came to our store and bought our selling products

At the end we fun raised alot of profit that is going towards our next years year 8 camp .

shared day at mairangi bay

Mairangi bay surf life saving education

8.45 the bus was leaving school to take the year 7 classes (room19 and 20) to Mairangi bay for surf live saving education.

During the drive to Mairangi Bay I was waiting patiently on the bus but inside I was excited. The children on the bus were full of laughter who knows why? . Here we are finally in Mairangi bay , the students seated on the grass and listened to the following instructions that were given from Mrs Nua . We then strolled up into the club house to meet the life guards told by the names as Meghan,Recaul and Rosy.

After the few boring activity's we then went out side an played some beach games which were Octopus life guards coming
The teachers were playing and the children were chasing after them like they were dogs side to side
. We were having loads of fun.

Yay ! After eating my lunch I quickly got changed into my swimming togs ready to get into some water activity's .
For our water activity's only one of the life guards could stay with us as the other to life guards Requal and Rosy had an important job to do . After everyone had changed we all gathered around Meghan to listen to the following instructions She explained to us and the teachers ,"teachers make a box in the water and that will be the children's Boundaries Boys have the Boigie boards and the girls can use the tubes so off we went into the water splashing and swimming it was loads of fun

Washing off to go home wiping our selves down who knows when we will be back. We said our thankyou's for sharing the day with us and we hope we could come back soon . I learnt alot of information at the surf life saving education we jumped on the bus and drove back to school it was a fun day everyone was a bit tired but wanted to stay for more .

Thames SPCA Voluntree shelter

Volunteering to help out at the Thames SPCA shelter is really fun.Heading towards the shelter I was excited about walking the dogs, cleaning kennels, feeding pets and more .

My auntie and I helped out three other volunteers clean and wash out the dog cages ,while i was washing the cages i saw a dog run past me, wondering how did that dog get out. So I went after before it got past the gate. The dogs name was Jyinx his skin colour was tan and his eyes were black. As i went after Jyinx I shut the gate before the other dogs got out, finally the dog stopped because he was scared of the cows that were sitting on the edge of the paddock fence.

I was that organized that I was carrying a dog leash with me. So I rushed over and caught his collar and attached the the leash on and took him for a walk down to the other end of the drive and back up again.

Looking after the dogs was fun it was also a great experience for me . I also didn't mind chasing after the dog. actually i wouldn't mind visiting again .

Capsize Drill

Capsize Drill

This is the way you practice a capsizing drill.
Firstly you get a little away from shore then you all lean to one side and over the boat goes .
We always have to be clear from the sails and ropes and swim around to where the centreboard sticks out from the bottom of the boat.
Someone climbs on the centre-board and, hold the side of the boat and lean back . The boat comes up slowly. We have to keep it facing towards the wind, or it might sail off without us , last we lean over the side and start to bail.

Mt Taranaki DLO

Active Earth is our theme that our school is studying this term. We as a class looked at the Legend of Mount Taranaki and we had to retell the story. After a discussion outside on the deck, we decided use animation to retell our story.

We were a group of 3. Vaine, Maree and me. Maree took charge of the animating, Vaine was in charge of the storyboard and I did the voiceover. Our storyboard turned out great.

Our group tried hard to get our DLO finished in time but we will try harder next time.

The post you are about to see is our DLO. We gained the top mark in the class. If you check the rubric (above), you will see our final assessment.
