The Fonterra science Roadshow

On the 9th of June room 22 and the rest of the year 7 and 8’s walked down to Tamaki College to learn about the science at the Fonterra roadshow. The Fonterra science roadshow travels around Aotearoa teaching children about science, technology and innovation.

When we arrived we were greeted by two scientists Paul and Jane giving a presentation on fire. It was exciting because one of the scientist used thrilling things like flames, blow torches, candles and acids.

There were six themes in the exhibits which were detection, heat, communication, leavers, gears and inclined planes, sound and quirky curiosities.

In detection exhibits some if the substances were radiation, bird songs, fluorescence's, mass spectrometer and a lot more. These were about electricity, identifying and analysing. This was my favourite exhibit.

My overall higlight for the road show was having to look arpund at different exhibits and learning new things. One thing that I would change would have to be the talking 'That was the worst'.
